Summary
Silent Salt Cookie has been alone for a millennium. Their descent into darkness was brief. But alas, a quick act of redemption was not enough for the Witches. Wukong refused to let himself drift off, keeping himself awake as long as Macaque was. And since Macaque was up and moving around more, it was easy to be awake when he was. And when Macaque slept, Wukong kept his vigil over him.
He even did his best to keep Demon Bull King and the kids from noticing by using glamours and clone decoys that would sleep for him while Wukong himself hid in songbird form tucked under Macaque’s chin.
It was going great.
Wukong didn’t need sleep, anyway. He was immortal.Or: Wukong has nightmares after watching his (ex?)husband almost die in his arms. He's not coping well.
