Summary
The man moves too fast, and Adrian cannot react in time to avoid being slammed into.
There's a sharp punch right beneath his rib cage, a tear that drags across four and a half inches, then Adrian is shoved away and the man is abruptly gone.
Strangely, it takes Adrian a very long minute to realize what had happened.

For the sake of the sun in the sky, it wasn’t often Pepa thought about him. But when she did, the question of what she would do if he ever came back home often arose.

Summary
Shadwell still broke into the bookshop, Aziraphale still stepped into the circle in an effort to keep the human out. The Quartermaster still shouted at Aziraphale for many things - being awfully late, his lack of a flaming sword, and the cowardice he had for not wanting to fight in the upcoming War.
His lack of a body though, was not one of them.
—
In other words, Crowley and Aziraphale get a slightly different reunion in the bar.

Summary
The first time John Marston gets shot- actually, properly shot, not just skimmed or grazed by a bullet- he finds he barely even remembers how it happened. There had been a gunfight, obviously, but there had been so many gunfights in those first few years that he finds the causes of them all slowly begin to blend together in the way things often do when you are not privy to the reasons for them. And so, the how remained, for the rest of his life, shrouded in some strange, half-mystery. But he finds he remembers plenty about what happened after it.
He remembers the smell of ash. Remembers it burning on his tongue and in the back of his throat, acrid and smothering. He remembers turning to face the sound of horse hooves with his gun still pointed firmly in the opposite direction, and then he remembers falling, falling, falling. The warm afternoon air on his cheeks. The mouthful of gravel that meets him on the way down
John Marston remembers a fair bit about the day he first got shot. He remembers even more about how Arthur Morgan looked with his guts half-strewn across a kitchen table.Series

Summary
“Hello there! Ah, I see you’re new around these parts. I’m old around these parts. Blind Man Cassidy is my name. If you’d like your fortune told, I just ask for a bit of gold.” He holds out a tin coffee can smothered in rust, full of empty, whistling desert air. Heat broils up around them and makes the horizon waver.
---
Arthur knows now, so many miles later, he never should have stopped. He never should have stopped along the trail, and he certainly never should have given that man any money. Damn this moment of charity, of weakness, and all the change it brought about.- Language:
