Young Na’vi come of age through the physical process of Awakening. It happens only once and is a very special moment for the Na’vi. Every Na’vi anticipates this moment more or less anxiously. But not Lo’ak. Lo’ak knew everything would be perfect. Because his future was bright and full of joy to come. Metkayina warrior in training and officially courting Tsireya to become his mate, everything was planned, known and already set for him. Soon, he and Tsireya would get their own Marui. She would give him children and he would finally have his place in the clan. Yes. Everything would be perfect…
Or would have been, had Lo’ak’s Navi body not decided to awaken with the wrong person at the worst time…
Or was Spider really the wrong person?
As Mo’at always said, Awakening can only happen when it recognizes its match.

Eywa's greatest mistake was born when the great Toruk Makto asked the Ash Clan for help to fight the Sky People. Their leader agreed, on one condition.

A baby was found, an error of Eywa, a pink-skinned one who could breathe the air of Pandora.
