    Everything fell apart so suddenly. First, the ship was attacked. Then Catra and Adora started arguing. And now Adora is quite literally being hunted—and unable to turn into She-Ra to properly defend herself.

    How could it have gone so wrong so quickly?

    Of course, Catra knows the answer. Just as Glimmer and Bow had known the answer, and tried to warn her.

    The jacket. If Catra hadn’t destroyed Adora’s stupid lucky jacket, none of this would have happened.

    (In other words: A fashion-forward Catra attempts to dispose of Adora’s crusty-ass Horde jacket. Chaos ensues.)

    “Catraaa!” a voice squeals, and Catra feels a strong pair of arms constrict around her torso, binding Catra’s arms to her sides. The sword clatters out of Catra’s grasp and onto the floor. 

    Catra stiffens, helpless and utterly dumbstruck as Adora’s face presses against hers, cheek-to-cheek. “Catra!” Adora squeals again, nuzzling ever-closer. “I missed you so, so, so much!” 

    (In other words...an AU for the episode "White Out" where Catra is the one to deal with a disk-drunk, overly-affectionate Adora)

    Catra clenches her fists. She won’t let it happen. She won’t endanger their future. “We can’t change anything. We’ll just have to wait, and do everything the same way we did before.”

    Adora grabs Catra’s shoulders. Her grip is so tight, it’s nearly painful. “But do you realize what that means for us? Playing along. Letting things go the exact same way as before–”

    Catra’s expression darkens. “I know,” she says, struggling to keep her voice from trembling. “You’ll have to leave. We’ll have to be enemies again.”

    Years after defeating Horde Prime, Catra and Adora inexplicably wake up in the past—on the day that Adora first found the sword. If they're going to make it back to the present, they'll have to relive their past from start to finish, pretending to be enemies despite being in love. Despite being married. Despite knowing exactly how the story ends.

    But it's not easy, waging war against the person you love most.

    “Aren’t you two—”

    “If you’re done talking about Adora and Catra getting married,” says Entrapta, with all the subtlety and tact of a sledgehammer, “I have calculated the voltage needed…”

    Wherever the rest of Entrapta’s sentence is going to go, it falls away. The whole room falls away as understanding hits Catra like a bolt of lightning, an electrifying shock to her system that leaves her reeling. Getting married? Her and Adora? Questions well up on her tongue — What? Why? — and she doesn’t realize she has fumbled through those fragmented inquiries until Frosta answers her.

    “Um. You’re wearing Adora’s pin.”
