    Steve sacrifices himself to save Billy at Starcourt. Billy makes a promise to get him back, it's going to take him a while but he plans to keep that promise. Even if he has to make a deal with a demon to do it. Even if the price isn't right.

    There is a flash of brown and blue and suddenly someone is between Billy and the monster. Steve, it is Steve! Billy’s heart lurches into his throat as Steve turns, shooting him a bloody and bruised smile.

    Not like this. Billy does not want to see that smile like this.

    Billy has a panicked shout crawling up his throat. Terror turns him ice cold as he watches, the world seems to slow down as the tentacles meant for him all hit Steve at once.
