Summary
Harry’s fifth year starts out like any other: bad dreams, a mysterious new teacher, and the looming threat of Voldemort’s—no longer eventual—return.
Harry’s frustration from Dumbledore’s secrecy and the Ministry’s incompetence is only made worse by the ever-present pain in his scar, and the dreams of dark corridors and locked doors. He is determined to seek out answers and learn the truth about Dark magic, his scar and connection to Voldemort, and the prophecy—answers which Professor Renault has.
But beneath the surface, a secret magical order, dormant since Grindelwald’s defeat, is slowly re-emerging and orchestrating the rise of the greatest Dark Lord in history, who will stop at nothing to follow his vision to the end of the world.
Harry has no idea what is about to hit him. Voldemort is just the beginning.
Canon-compliant up to the end of Goblet of Fire. Follows Order of the Phoenix for the most part, diverging significantly near the end of fifth year. Will continue through to post-war and beyond.
M Rating is for safety (so I don't have to censor myself when things get interesting); most of the story falls under T.

Summary
While the Empire has subjugated most of the world, Alexander has grown up on the east coast of Renais, one of the last remaining independent nations. Alexander is a sorcerer (a so-called ‘dark’ magician), studying under Sterling Evett, a specialist in alchemical research and his adoptive father.
When Sterling inexplicably begins to spend more time away from home, Alexander, out of boredom and defiance, neglects his studies in favour of exploring the town, where a chance encounter leads him to a group of magical terrorists called the Knights of Esseria.
At first, the Knights seem undeniably evil, and Alexander, wanting to be a hero, is happy to accept the call to adventure. The interest is mutual but opposite—the Knights would rather recruit Alexander than kill him, and now he finds himself caught up in the midst of a cold war between Esseria and the Empire, and forced to choose a side.
Harry Potter, if it was darker and gayer. Writing technique heavily inspired by Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality (no idiot ball, solvable mysteries, complex and intelligent characters, a magic system that makes sense).

The true Time-Turner was slammed savagely into Hermione's throat. It shattered against her neck, bits of glass and gold piercing into her skin. The last thing she saw before blackness consumed her was a plume of metallic dust and vitreous fragments, tiny prisms dancing behind her eyelids.
(In which Hermione accidentally ends up in 1950, pitted against an ascending Dark Lord in his prime, caught in the entanglement of pureblood politics, dark magic, and Tom Riddle's interest)
