“Marry me.”
He said it with such blasé that you weren’t sure you heard him correctly. Silence surrounded the two of you and he leaned down and tilted his head, watching you like a specimen under a microscope.
“Just for a year. A marriage of convenience. Consider it nothing more than a harmless experiment for the sake of curiosity.”Il Dottore/Female reader with established personality. Slow burn. Semi-enemies to lovers.

In a way, it's soothing to find these little differences. There are too many haunting similarities already, too many moments where this man feels like just the one she used to know. The one she loves. But unlike his future self, this Emet-Selch doesn't know her. And he had been right earlier when claiming she doesn't know him either.

Summary
Emet-Selch flipped her on her back without so much as a word, their bodies flush, the sudden heat between them indescribable. Her abrupt intake of air, the tilt of her hips up, pressing hard against his—the moment of friction scattered his brain. All he could manage was a fingertip-touch to her lips. “Behave.”
“No, I don’t think I will.”
She nipped at his finger, catching the tip of his glove between her teeth. The mischief in her eyes, the arch of her brow in a quiet dare. He almost didn’t notice her light sizzling against his dark aether. Too consumed by everything her in that instant to notice the pain. Tempting fate, even, by brushing his lips against her jawline.
“Then, I too promise to misbehave.”

Summary
“Forget-me-nots,” Xelruna said with some awe. She looked to the Ascian beside her. “Emet-Selch, have you visited the First before this?”
Emet-Selch didn’t move, and his eyes remained closed as he said, “I have.”
“The Viis called the trails of these flowers the Steps of Maja, but they didn’t seem to have a name for the flowers themselves. Or at least, they haven’t mentioned it to me. Do you know what it is?”
(Or: The truth of the Light corrupting her prompts Xelruna to wander through the Rak'tika Greatwood, where she stumbles upon a certain slumbering Ascian.)

Summary
Persephone, after her matches in the Arcadion concluded, has one more challenger in the form of a dark knight with a cadence and attitude that reminds her a little too much of a once-adversary, dear friend, and ally.
There was no way it was him. Not after his words in Ultima Thule.

Summary
The Warrior of Light sees dead people.
Oz has a talent. A birthright, as her mother’s ghost is always eager to remind her. The women of her family have passed this talent – this quirk of ability and aether – through their line for as long as records have existed, and she’s never given it much thought. After all, what use is talking to ghosts when Eorzea has need of her other, flashier magicks?
Until the day she kills Emet-Selch, keeper of the Underworld, and her little talent suddenly takes on a whole new meaning.

Summary
This is only tangentially part of this series. I'd briefly mentioned a fantasy that the WoL had once, and my goblin brain decided I needed to write it. If anything seems a bit off-character to start, remember that this is the WoL's fantasy. What's happening in the second part? -shrugs innocently-
