    Summary

The twinge he feels is something Etho immediately assigns as childish, stupid, and to be forgotten about, so he shoves it down and tries to forget.

But these are not things easily forgotten, and the first time Etho stumbles out of camp late at night expecting that what he feels is nausea, he falls to his knees in the bushes, yanks his mask down, and coughs until he spits something up. For a split second he can only stare down in shock as he thinks what he's seeing is blood, but when Etho reaches to touch it is solid and smooth. Blood-red flower petals.

    Summary

Wide awake when the world is sound asleep.
Too afraid of what might show up while you're dreaming.

After Doc kills Etho with an anvil, he's left waiting for a return attack that never comes. Being constantly on guard has its problems, like skipping sleep. While Etho is at his most competent level, fully rested and with a clear attack plan, Doc is very far from his best, falling asleep every few hours and unaware of his enemy's next move.

    Summary

Tango Tek, retired adventurer and licensed mage, has worked as a lighthouse keeper for nearly a year. Alongside him are Pearl and Etho, a pair of elves also helping to keep the fire burning. With a local town full of eccentrics, and more just a letter away, everything is perfect.

But then, one night, Pearl sees a strange fog coalescing over the old, abandoned harbour. A fog which triggers a chain of events that mean nothing will ever be the same again...

    Summary

It was quiet, Etho running his hands through his hair. A summons, from the king. Something Etho really couldn’t ignore. He wasn’t a prince, he wasn’t even the words behind the letters. Oh gods, had the king gotten a hold of some of Pearl’s letters? If that happened, there was no way Etho would be able to-

To do what? What was Etho even saying? To do…another scam? The biggest scam they could ever do. A robbery of the royal vault, filled to the brim with gold, more than any of them could spend in one lifetime.

It was like the three of them got to the same place at the same time, all three of them looking up at each other with varying degrees of excitement. “We can’t.” Tango instantly said, a smile already starting to grow on his face.

“It would be a death wish.” Etho agreed.

“I mean,” Pearl paused, eyes flicking down towards the letter again. “Ignoring a summons like that, that would be a death wish as well.” There was another pause, Pearl letting the sentiment really sink in. Then-

“It would be the greatest scam we could ever do.”

-Etho accidentally lies his way into his kingdom's castle, and worse, into the sights of the king.-
