Summary
Reid writes Kirk/Spock fic as a secret personal hobby, and often thinks about The Premise to pass the time.
Each 5+1 scene begins with an excerpt from Reid's own (often mentally written) K/S fic, then transitions into what happens when he's eventually forced to tune back in to the real world around him— and how blind he is to the fact that his thoughts about his favorite Star Trek ship may have more parallels with his personal life than he realizes.

Pekora thought for another brief moment— if Marine tainting the pure, friendly energy of the hug was inevitable anyway, then she figured it would be okay to wait for Marine's lewd comment before she put an end to their physical contact.
