It tears too deeply at old wounds for him to question whether something more is going on. “Ratio?” he asks, stepping a bit closer. “It’s me, Aventurine. Are you… do you want to go home?”
At the mention of his name, Ratio stills, a light startle in his step as he turns to face Aventurine. He drops his hands, lacing them back together in front of him. He looks dazed, normal intensity lost from his eyes as they open glassy and vacant. They flex wide with recognition, but he doesn’t say anything.
Ratio goes quiet, and Aventurine doesn't know what to do.
