Summary
“50-ish year old man on a motorcycle…”
Robby waited for her next words.
He braced for immature, or careless, or the one he’d already expected—selfish. But the word that arrived stopped him short.
“...very sad.”
Sad was not what he had expected. Sad was not what the road trip was supposed to be. Sad was not what his colleagues should feel when they think about him on his trip.
And yet, sad was exactly what it was. What it would be. And deep down, he had known that already.
--OR--On the eve of a sabbatical, Dr. Michael Robinavitch prepares to leave, once and for all.

Summary
Robby closed the door to the patient room he was just in to hear a commotion incoming to central. A flurry of barked orders, fast movements, camo…and silver hair with the occasional flash of auburn patches.
Jack. Oh god, it’s Jack.
He wasn’t supposed to be here today.
Fuck, fuck.

Summary
"Just make sure you come back, and if it gets dark, you call me."
Jacks voice just barely above a whisper, trying not to let panic bleed into his tone.
He tried futilely to catch Robby's eyes, but realized that he was unreachable. It felt like ice water was injected into his veins, he held his hands behind his back to hide away the shaking that had begun.
"You listening?" Jacks voice faltering, no longer any quips or snarky remarks underlining his words.
Robby didn't meet his eyes, patted his shoulder and walked away before anything else could be said.
