Summary
Axis Shock.
For Amuro Ray and Char Azanable, it was an overload of Psychoframe Resonance. A sick, twisting feeling across their bodies. They expected to die. But they didn't.
Found Stranded near the chunk of Axis that nearly ended Earth, in the depths of space, by pure happenstance due to Axis intersecting with Asticassia's orbit, the White Devil and Red Comet are recovered in a comatose state by one Suletta Mercury. They are lost, in a time and space where nothing they know is the same. But the machinations of the greedy, of the mourning, are still at play.
These Legendary Pilots, nothing more now than unknowns, have the opportunity to change the fate of those around them, if they are able to rise from what has come before. And perhaps with the help of the Red-Headed Pilot from Mercury, they have a chance.
For Quiet Zero still awaits at the end.

I chose this life, Captain Thomas Lasky reminded himself from behind the wheel of the Warthog.
He chose it when he had transferred to the Naval Academy at sixteen. He chose it every shift when he put on his uniform. And, when he was feeling particularly skeptical of that decision, he chose it whenever he pulled up the standing discretionary medical discharge that could get him out of the UNSC honorably and with all of his benefits intact at any time.
"Yes, Chief, I did eventually learn how to drive. Just for that, you get to walk," he shot back indignantly.
As the Spartan saluted cheekily and strode away, Lord Hood fastened his safety restraint. The Marine general in the jump seat on the gun deck could be heard doing the same with an annoyed huff.
"Captain?"
"Yes, Admiral?" Lasky asked innocently.
"Punch it."
He chose this life, and whatever happened, he had no one to thank but himself.

Malcador made it clear what they would have to do (he still wasn't sure how they would manage to get through the Custodies). Put him back on the Golden Throne. The Emperor couldn't be allowed to leave the Golden Throne. Epimetheus hoped his Father wouldn't be too angry with him
