When Jin Ling discovers his identity, the sword in his hand seemingly aims at his heart before it diverts to his chest, and Wei Wuxian can see the flicker of a hand holding over Jin Ling's before it fades away. As his nephew wails loudly like an abandoned dog, tears falling down his cheeks in a way that is so painfully reminiscent of Shijie, warm energy pulsates around him—as if he is captured in a desperate yet ultimately useless hug.
The spirit is like acid. It is moved by everything Jin Ling does, and Wei Wuxian wouldn't be half-surprised if the reason why so many cultivators avoid angering Jin Ling is because of the temperature that dips around him when he is angered. It's as if the entire world has been flung into the deepest part of the lakes in winter, ice cracking above their heads as they look at the fifteen year old child, not knowing how the spirit commands its rage and blankets it around them.

Summary
Lan Xichen is a man in desperate need of a date for a networking event. His brother-in-law, Wei Wuxian, suggests that he engage the services of an escort. In the same breath, he suggests that the alpha take Jiang Cheng.
The only problem is... Wei Wuxian forgets to mention that Jiang Cheng isn't an escort. So, entirely by accident, Lan Xichen becomes Jiang Cheng's sugar daddy, all while trying not to fall for the prickly, beautiful omega almost a decade younger than him.
He fails. Miserably.
