    He is still a young man though, bound by his most banal instincts. And when the Astral Express comes by for a visit, there's two new visitors, one of which he has a hard time of not staring at.

    It’s no secret that the Astral Express is known for picking up travelers and being open to all. It seems they have picked up two more strays to join them on their journey. And the man that steps out is… 

    Wow. 

    Tall. Taller than Gepard, broader than him and built strong and heavy. Dressed in a long white, cascading coat with gold sun accents everywhere. Dark boots that wrap around his calves. Following long thighs, a long torso, a long neck and pale blue eyes. They make eye contact and Gepard shivers at the stern intensity of his eyes. 

    “Greetings.” His voice. Deep and light and playful and just the slightest edge of teasing. “My name is Phainon."

    Mydei opens his mouth to comfort his idol—

    “I don’t know who you are.”

    …Shit. Mydei forgot that he’s crap at comforting others.

    Before he can dig himself a hole and die, Khaslana turns his eyes to Mydei’s face. “R-really?”

    His voice is half-hopeful, half-skeptical as his eyes glance outside the window. Mydei inadvertently follows his gaze, to the huge billboard plastered with Phainon’s face hovering over the city. “Thus Burns the Dawn” Now Out! Phainon proclaims, flashing a wink and a finger heart.

    Mydei expressionlessly marches over to the window and yanks the curtains closed.

    In which Mydei finds himself in the strange situation of "trying to earn money as a housekeeper to support your idol, only to end up cleaning your idol's house, and to top it all off, your idol is secretly gloomy, depressed, and has the self-preservation skills of a walnut."

    Summary

    A stranger things rewrite of seasons 3-5. Focuses on Will as the primary main character and centers his self-acceptance arc and powers much earlier in the story. Will's friendship with Max & Jane being developed earlier and being much more central to the story. Byler get together at the end of season three and are an established couple for the rest of the story. The plot will generally follow the one in the show until season five, where there will be changes made to fix plot holes and hopefully provide a more satisfactory conclusion. The goal for Jane's character is to allow her to develop her interests and identity outside of a relationship, and prove that she can live a happy life despite all the pain she has went through. The first shadow and all the lore we learn about in the play will play a major part in the rewrite of season five and the fic during the 18 month timeskip.
