Summary
“Can I have one?” Robby asks, stretching out his hand. Dennis shakes a little as he passes Robby the cigarette, begging he doesn’t notice. Though the other pauses for a moment, looking up at Dennis through his lashes, he takes it anyway. His eyes don’t leave Dennis even when he inhales, and still holds the gaze as he exhales, smoke curling behind him.
Suddenly it feels really hot, even though there's fresh snow from a few nights ago still melting on the ground. His eyes track Robby licking his lips, and the thought of him tasting Dennis on the cigarette makes him shiver a bit. Robby finally turns his eyes away to the sky, holding onto the cigarette as its ashes fall. Dennis lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.

Summary
Dennis has spent his life buried beneath layers of shame, fear, and religious guilt. But when he meets Michael Robinavitch, a brilliant professor who sees something in him, something that no one else has, everything changes. Their connection is immediate—magnetic and dangerous.
As their relationship deepens, so do the consequences of their closeness, and the line between love and self-destruction blurs. When Dennis's past erupts, and the weight of his guilt overwhelms him, their relationship is tested in ways neither of them is prepared for.
In a brutal confrontation, words are weapons—truths are laid bare—and hearts are broken. Can love survive the damage they’ve done to each other, or is this a wound that will never heal?
