This was my MLB Secret Santa gift for @a-k-wyld over on Tumblr, I hope you enjoy this story, I was experimenting with some styles and had a lot of fun writing for you. A reunification of old friends leads to some flirting and possibly more.
It isn't so much an AU but this takes place in a warmer time of year (otherwise the thunderstorm theme wouldn't have worked), also everyone is older and Adrien wears glasses.

Valerie and Danny are kidnapped by the GIW due to their anomalous ectoplasmic radiation readings. In the lab, they're put trough testing to determine whether or not they still count as human. Danny struggles with the cost of keeping his secrets to avoid hurting Valerie, while Valerie grapples with the real ramifications of her suit’s technology and how ghostly she's becoming. Together they must both face their truths if they want to get out alive.
