Harry had expected a few things when returning for his Eighth Year. Rooming with Ron, a cheeky Firewhisky down at the pub, leaving his assignments to the last minute – those were all but certain to occur.
His list of certainties definitely hadn’t included McGonagall’s shake-up of the curriculum, which tasked the Eighth Years with the responsibility of parenthood for three weeks. Caring for a baby Transfigured from a sack of flour would have been alright if: 1) Malfoy wasn’t Harry’s assigned partner, 2) Their baby’s one goal in life wasn’t to spite Harry, and 3) Malfoy wasn’t infuriatingly good at fake parenthood.

Summary
He’s sure the Potters are nice people. A person as confident and cocky and self-assured, and deeply, deeply loving, as James couldn’t possibly come from a cruel family.
But Sirius Black is not a Potter. Sirius Black is a guest, who likely just broke the nose of their pride and joy.
And Sirius knows that if there’s one thing that truly separates the Blacks and the Potters after all the politics and ideology and social castes wash away, it’s that the Potters will always protect their son.
OR
The first summer after he runs away from Grimmauld Place, Sirius has a lot of emotions swirling around his mind, none of which he handles well. Luckily, Euphemia and Fleamont Potter are there to help put out his fires.

He has no idea where he is. He has no idea what happened to him. He has no idea who he is, other than "Peter". But then, he looks over at the man who is scrutinizing him with worried eyes, and he knows who the man is.
That's his dad.
Or - the one where Peter gets hit over the head really, really hard and has temporary amnesia, and makes a very reasonable assumption based on the data presented to him.

Then he took a deep breath and he changed. He ironed out every fold in his posture and his face until he looked like Superman again. His shoulders were broad, his gaze was confident, and his smile showed no sign of embarrassment or fear.
It’s genuinely uncomfortable to watch.
Especially since Bruce knows that change. He’s seen it in the mirror before entering parties or nightclubs. He’s always referred to it, internally, as 'putting on my better face.' The façade is his least favourite part of the day, ranking just below 'getting punched by supervillains.'
The idea that Superman is just Kal's better face, that would explain a lot.
It would also mean Bruce isn't alone.

Summary
It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.
Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.
