(White Rose Week 2020: mirror + love at first sight/eye-contact + curse)
“I think that you’re lucky that Winter couldn’t bear to shatter you.” Weiss turned to look back at the mirror and found that waves of unease seemed to be rolling off the glass. A smirk twisted her lips. “You’ll find I, on the other hand, have no qualms with doing so.”
Frost climbed up the edges of the mirror, and for a moment Weiss could’ve sworn silver eyes were blinking sadly back at her.
Or;
Weiss falls in love with a mirror, because of course she does.

(White Rose Week 2020: the princess and her knight)
There is something bubbling up inside of her, something she’d never felt before. And for the first time in years she thinks for a moment that her armor is too heavy to move in, that her arms are not strong enough to lift her sword. The way that the princess dances, with suitors and her family and friends, it makes her heart beat with something entirely unfamiliar to her.
Winter sees it—takes notice of her sudden breathlessness, presses a hand to her shoulder, and tells her to let go.
And so Weiss does.
(At least, she thinks she does.)
Or;
She was a knight, her duty was to the crown, was to protect it and serve it as best as she could—but the call, the sweet and warm melody of friendship sang to her.
(And more often than naught, it was in the form of a rose.)

Summary
She counted the snowflakes on the ceiling, remembering the way Winter had helped her paint them, the way that Whitley had decided to cause problems on purpose and stick his paint covered hands wherever he could. Even now, if she turned to look to her side, she’d see it; a small boy’s hand impishly stained onto her walls, the only evidence of genuine childishness in a house where three children were born and raised.
“And why is that?” Whitley asked her, sounding rather fed up.
“This...” She wondered how she could put it, how she could make him understand. He must already get it, must already see what she would become in the face of their parents; he’d gone through the same thing when she was off at her precious private school. “You know how it is here.”
“You are afraid.” He said, sounding far too knowing.
“Always.” Weiss laughed, cheeks hurting from the sudden strain.
Or;
After all, who would turn their gaze upon her and not see the most wretched things?
