Well, not exactly his crew. He’d only been put aboard the Starship Hawkins three days before mission launch. Some people he knew from the academy, but most of them he was still learning their names. And now he was staring out the port window at a fireball.

Eddie is so caught up in his thinking that he almost doesn’t see the sign on his way back out of Hawkins. He’s so used to the faded letters promoting campy sci-fi films that he had to stop his car to look properly.
The Hawkins 71 Drive-In was closing. A part of him was in disbelief that it had lasted this long. Sure, he hadn’t gone to see a film there in over two decades, but in the 80s? This was Eddie’s haven. And the site of his first date with Steve.

She takes it in stride, and the next Monday it's Jocelyn at his locker. Then Ginny. Then Cami. Soon a rumor starts that Steve Harrington will accept anyone who asks him out at the beginning of the week and end their relationship after seven days of dating.
Eddie doesn't believe the rumors. After all, to say Steve Harrington would ignore the glaring asterisk of heteronormativity is just insane. But when he catches the King being tardy on a Monday he puts his theory to the test.
Suddenly Eddie has a boyfriend for the next seven days. Now he just has to not fall in love.

Summer has come to Hawkins and the kids begged and pleaded to be driven to the lake to swim. Eddie agreed to take the second car full of gremlins which is how he finds himself sitting in the shade with Robin while the kids splash around the lakeshore. Almost immediately upon arrival, Steve began to set up a sandwich station for lunch with Nancy offering her assistance, leaving the pair to gossip and chat.
Eddie scans the scene before him and takes in the sight of Harrington and Wheeler making sandwich after sandwich, while the teenagers start a game of chicken. It’s almost too domestic for his taste but reminds him of something he’s been meaning to ask Robin. “So tell me, how much shit have you given Harrington for his six kids and a Winnebago comment?”
