Summary
In your memories, you see Dave Strider, fourteen-years-old and made up of lean muscle and awkward limbs that he would still need a few years to grow into fully. Crows surround him, all cawing impatiently, vying for the chicken sandwich in his backpack. He swears loudly as he swings a stick at them, trying to get them to leave him the fuck alone.
“Stupid feathery assholes,” he’d always complain once he finally shooed them away.
You tear yourself out of the memory. You miss him, and you hate yourself for it.

Summary
"What do you mean, Clockwork?" Danny asked, abruptly standing from his throne. "I was literally crowned like all of five minutes ago and you're already trying to get rid of me?"
"Nonsense, my King," the older ghost soothed. Clockwork was still serenely floating in front of the young half-ghost, a small smile gracing his blue face. "I am merely giving you two options - you can either go back into the realm you come from and inform your family and friends of your newly-gained influence, or you can take a... sabbatical, of sorts, and collect some artifacts from a different dimension. It would certainly give you some extra time to grow into your new role."
Danny rolled his eyes, gesturing largely with his upper body. "Well, gee, Clocky. I just don't know how to say no to that."

Summary
In freshman year of high school, Danny pulled away from his friends without explanation.
At sixteen, he disappeared. Sam and Tucker presumed him dead. His parents insisted he was taken by ghosts.
As young adults, they run into him in Gotham, of all places. It's a stroke of luck that brings their best friend back to them.
If only it was that easy for the Bats to find the god damn engineer that's been running circles around them while they try to track him down.
Tim's not sure what he'll do first when he finally finds the brilliant bastard - kiss him or punch his teeth in.
