He raised his chin, smirking as he quipped, “Just because men are educated does not mean they are intelligent.”
She finished the bow, smoothing out any puckering. Rio raised a single brow as she took the cigarette between two fingers again, blowing the smoke off to the side of the man. “Another topic we agree on.”
“How thrilling,” August smirked.
“Thrilling indeed,” she deadpanned.

4. All of Phil’s skaters have to volunteer on weekends.
5. No hockey players may consort with figure skaters.
6. No figure skaters may consort with hockey players.
7. Nobody uses changing room 5 on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon.Natasha and Maria have learnt not to lean on anybody but themselves. Maybe all it takes is breaking the unofficial rules of the rink to get them to open up.

Maura felt the scales tip ever so slightly with the word, even as the Name echoed. It wasn’t entirely unpleasant. There. Thanks given, and a favor asked and paid. Progress enough, for the day. “I’ll be in the lab if you need anything else.” Satisfied, Maura turned to go, but felt Jane’s hand on her shoulder. It could only be Jane’s hand; no one else touched Maura so familiarly, so warmly.
“Hey, don’t forget this,” Jane said, and her other hand presented a cup. “It might be kinda cold, sorry. I meant to bring it after lunch, but things got a little hectic.” Maura stared at the coffee, the gift, and wanted to yell. Jane pushed it into her hand and smiled, eyes crinkling, completely unaware. “It’s your fave. From down the block.”
Damnit, she thought, but Jane’s kindness did what it always did, and Maura accepted the gift— and the accompanying imbalance. The only thing she could do to prevent further damage was nod, and flee.
OR
Maura is a child of the Fae, and she has fallen into the Rizzolis’ debt.

“I swear I’ll tackle you,” Savannah threatened. “Speaker.”
Maura pulled the phone from her ear to whisper shout at her sister. “Not a chance.”
“Hello?”
There was a scuffle then a yelp and suddenly Maura found herself on the floor on her back with Savannah on her chest and Nina holding her phone, the speaker icon lit white.Jane get's paired with a member of the sorority Alpha Chi Omega for a class project; during their study session she meets VP Maura Isles and sparks fly.
