Summary
Taylor Hebert doesn't get powers from a locker. She gets them years earlier, on a subway platform in New York—alongside three strangers who should never have shared a moment, let alone a bond. By the time she returns to Brockton Bay, she's a masked vigilante with a spear, two unusually talkative ravens, and a reputation built on myth and misdirection. Of course, this being Taylor, she immediately heads out and gets herself into a whole lot of trouble. Does she have a plan? Yes, but it's not always a good one.
This is a fic about pushing a 'weak' power to its absolute limits. It's also a fic about Taylor biting off way more than she can chew and then chewing anyway, consequences be damned. She might not be able to beat an average guy in a fistfight, but boy can she be a pain in the neck for anyone dumb enough to think that means they can take her on.

Atticus Winters is an Agent of Firewall, one of those charged with ensuring that the flickering light of human civilization does not die out. Joining one of Firewall’s colonization programs, he passed through a trans-dimensional gate of unknown age and providence. Winding up in the past on a parallel Earth was not un-expected, as that had been a possibility they had planned for. Quickly discovering that the megacorps that dominate this version of Earth are rapidly driving humanity to extinction, fixing such a society would be the work of multiple lifetimes, but Atticus couldn’t call himself a Firewall Agent if he didn’t at least try.
A decade later he gets a call from Viktor Vektor, who had helped him establish himself in Night City. One of Vik’s patients, and friends, has a bullet in her head and an unknown biochip eating her brain. From how Vik describes her, and from what he hears from other fixers, she would make a good Firewall agent, and it is far past time for Atticus to set up his own Firewall cell.
V, still deeply traumatized from her time in Arasaka CI, absolutely does not want to bind herself to another corp, and is determined to get the Relic, and Johnny Silverhand, out of her on her own terms.

Summary
Nature abhors a vacuum. When a demon is banished from a world, all it leaves is opportunity for another to take its place. When Gwi-ma was blasted out of the picture, it attracted the none-too-tender attentions of another, nearby universe. Nearby in proximity, and on cosmic time scales, in date as well.

There's only nine months until the Idol Awards again, and they have to, absolutely have to win this time.
