It never occurred to him that Jeongguk might see his phone calls and messages as a burden or chore. Jimin had just assumed Jeongguk was busy with other stuff, but it turns out that Jeongguk actively hates phone communication.
Now that it’s confirmed that his avoidance is more like an active dislike, he knows what he has to do, as a good friend. He doesn't want to become a pest, doesn't want to make Jeongguk resent him or have a negative reaction every time his name shows up in a notification.
It's time to let go.

Summary
Jimin's whole life has been about discipline-- he wouldn't be where he is without it. He's forged his career as a pro-footballer from literal blood, sweat and tears. Maybe he's a bit bored and lonely but a footballer's career is short, he can get to living later.
Jungkook is the very opposite of discipline; literature student, queer, skateboarder, vegan. If he didn't exist he'd sound made up.
And he’s also the last person Jimin should be hooking up with.
But, after meeting on a night out in a tiny English town- and having the best sex of Jimin’s life- their chemistry is just so fucking good that he can’t stop, even when it seems obvious that they’re going to crash and burn.
