Summary
After the Battle of Five Armies, Thorin fell into a deep sleep that lasted through the changing seasons and with his sleep, Bilbo lingered beneath the mountain growing roots that broke the stone. Together, Thorin (once awake) and Bilbo brave the waters of courting and hobbit orphans in a land reclaimed and made even more glorious with the soft touch of a child from the west.

Thorin grumbled as he went back upstairs and hastily scribbled ‘It’s 2am. Shut up.’ onto a scrap of paper and shoved it unceremoniously through the small gap between the door and the floorboards beneath it.
A tale of neighbours and concertos and passive-aggressive notes. And a bit of unforeseen romance as well, of course.

For a prompt.
The holidays are fast approaching, and Thorin's been dreading them, now that it's just him and his nephews. Harder still given that Fili still barely speaks and hasn't really since Dis died.
So when Kili drags them into the bookstore to look for children's literature author Mr. Baggins' new book, and they find the author himself reading his latest, Thorin isn't expecting anything beyond maybe making his nephews a little happier.
He certainly isn't expecting to find something for himself but he may have done just that.
