Summary
Calin, son of Fundin, is a thief. His two brothers, however, are the adviser and personal guard to the king himself. Or rather, the exiled king. An opportunity arose for Calin to bring honor back to his name and leave his life of crime. He joins the company of Thorin Oakensheild to do just that, and hopefully earn a little coin along the way. However, he is thrown into a group where no one likes him except his eldest brother and his partner. His role, teach the hobbit how to be a thief.

Summary
The journey to Erebor was a grueling affair, marked by blisters, rain, and the constant threat of being eaten. But for Bilbo Baggins, the greatest challenge wasn't the Orcs, it was the sheer logistical nightmare of being a Hobbit in a company of Dwarves who knew absolutely nothing about Hobbit physiology.
Most folk in Middle-earth knew that Hobbits had large, hairy feet. Some knew they had a penchant for seven meals a day. But very few knew about the ears, and almost no one outside the Shire knew about the tails.

Summary
The Blacklock delegation is coming to Erebor and it turns out they have an old stipulation that they demand still be upheld by Erebor: they will only do business with the Consort. Thorin and Balin quickly prep Bilbo on what to do to keep from offending the Blacklocks, but when they arrive they seem to take special interest in the hobbit. Perhaps a little too much interest if you ask Thorin.

Summary
The Took family’s collective sense of uncanny rebellion, adventure, curiosity, and overall lack of respectability aren’t the only reasons the rest of the Shire deemed them menaces. The family was never banished from the area, as the other Hobbits knew they were no match for the freaks of nature.
Every generation of Took children, regardless of their other parent, have been born with something different. Something that the other Hobbits whisper about behind their hands when the clan passes. Something that has gotten them rude insults, glares, and even physical attacks.
The Took clan Hobbits all have wings. And Bilbo “Mad Hobbit” Took is no exception.
AKA, Bilbo gives no fucks and is way more powerful than his travelling companions could ever imagine.

Summary
In the Shire, hobbits say, "What lovely weather we've having." They also stir their teacups for four and a half clockwise rotations, place their left elbow seven-eighths down the way of the arm rest, and sniffled pointedly, which roughly translates to: "This tea is over-steeped and bland, your furniture is both uncomfortable and horrifically tasteless, and you're a twit of a host."
And I think that's beautiful.

Hobbitish is a language of manners and etiquette, the dwarves don't even know that Hobbitish is a thing, and Bilbo is trying to keep a straight face and his peace of mind while the Company unintentionally keeps sexually propositioning him and challenging him to pie-eating contests to the death.
