Summary
Sometimes, when Jean shows up, the soft rev of his motorcycle announcing his arrival, James joins him and they work in comfortable silence together. Other times, James steps into his backyard after a day out of the house, and the only signs Jean has been there are the neatly trimmed bushes, weedless soil, and a basket full of fresh vegetables sitting on the back steps.
5 AM for a student-athlete who had played a tough game the night before is just too early for James to let slide. He sighs and flicks on the coffee machine before making his way outside.
Or, a collection of moments where Jean gardens and Rhemann helps his kid heal.

“You went to school here? Is that why you can speak it?”
“Oh,” Jeremy can feel his cheeks pinken. With an even brighter and wider smile than before, he lifts his left hand and shows his wedding ring off. “No, I learnt it to speak with my husband.”

Summary
“Read it to me,” he said.
“Okay,” Jeremy said his voice low, as he began to read out loud continuing from where he left off. Jeremy’s voice was lovely, low and steady as he read the words on the page with practiced ease. Jean shut his eyes and tipped his head to the side, so it rested on Jeremy’s shoulder, letting the cadence of the other boy's words wash over him.
