Summary
Fate Knox has some problems with the Compact. Namely the status of independent sophonts in the Compact. Labeled a feral just for speaking her mind, Fate fights tooth and nail, using her skills as a speaker in an attempt to get a chance, however small, to make some real change, to make a brighter future. As much as she wants to move forward, though… she can never truly escape her past.
Genuine attempt to write a truly long-form story. Social activism, revolutionary intent, and political philosophy abound.

The affini invasion has forced a status quo on her that she can't even begin to comprehend let alone want, made all the worse by everyone acting like it's paradise. The only person she can (barely) tolerate is her coworker Amyruca, an affini with an annoying obsession with helping her. All Bella wants to do is reject everything around her, so what happens when she can't?
