Hal clicks the link. It takes a while to boot up. For a minute, it’s a black screen that’s buffering, keeping Hal on–edge. Snake, on the other hand, rubs at his stubble and yawns.
“Is this really worth it?” Hal asks. “It’s not loading.”
“Give it a minute.”
“No,” Hal says with a sigh, “I’m exiting the—”
It loads. A woman moans loudly, filling the entire living room with her sounds of pleasure. Hal’s eyes go wide; Snake raises a brow, his heart jumping, forcing him to wake up a little more.Things go south when Hal and Snake accidentally come across pornography on a seemingly innocent link.

Richie had been lying on her stomach, but when Eddie spoke, she made a blurry noise, and her torso twisted as she stretched. She’d kicked off the duvet, so Eddie could see what she was wearing: green underwear with a shamrock on the crotch and a t-shirt with the neck and sleeves cut out, one of the arm holes of which had fallen, somewhat absurdly and very erotically, to bare her chest. Richie respected the letter of Eddie’s inconsistently enforced no-outside-clothes-on-the-bed policy by yanking off her pants and throwing on the first shirt in the hamper before she took a nap. This had resulted more than once in Richie sleeping in a shirt that Eddie had worn playing shortstop in a kickball double header, which, besides fitting like a cropped wetsuit on her, smelled like a concentrated distillation of every women’s locker room in Williamsburg (rancid exercise sweat, industrial-grade deodorant, and ostensibly organic dry shampoo). Richie claimed, and actually seemed, to like it, though.
