“Mira, really. I’m not seeing any mice” Zoey says, straightening and turning off her phone flashlight. “I’m sure it was just a squeaky floorboard-”

Zoey jumps with a scream but she doesn’t react as strongly as Mira who fully shoves herself into Zoey’s arms and nearly makes the younger girl collapse and drop to the hard wood. Zoey only staggers and swears, her legs shaking.

“You can’t let it touch you, Rumi. The Hon-moon is wild. Dangerous.” Rumi has never seen this kind of fear in Celine before. It’s a fear that forces Celine to touch her. To grip her arms with bruising strength, nearly lifting her from the ground.
The worst part is; Celine is lying.
What Celine really meant to say is that the Hon-moon is dangerous to her. Because she isn't human. Not fully. Not yet. If she lets the Hon-moon touch her she’s letting the Hon-moon touch that monster. The one with the patterns and the fur. The one that Celine hates. The one Rumi tries to hate. It’s because of that monster Celine won’t love her.
or. Rumi is a monster inside and out. It's harder than you think to hide your demonic characteristic 24/7 but Rumi craves love so badly that she really did try her best.

Summary
Rumi moans lightly as Zoey sucks a tired hickey into her neck. Zoey hadn't even been aware she had been doing it and pulls away with an apologetic kiss to her demon’s neck.
“Good morning.” Rumi mumbles into her ear, her voice scratching from sleep. The demon tucks her muscled arms up and over Zoey’s shoulders, her hands caressing the back of Zoey’s head.
Zoey swears she hears “Joh-eun Achim”. It’s ‘good morning’ in Korean. She hears it every morning she's in bed next to the demon. It’s mumbled into her ear because Rumi is like an anxiously attached koala in her sleep.
She hears it the same today and notices no difference at all.
But what Rumi really says is, “good morning” in a horrible accented English.
Or, two idiot gays learn English for their American-Korean girlfriend.

The voice was low, honeyed, warm in all the right places. It fell over Rumi in a way the man’s voice hadn’t, settling into her bones and gnawing faintly, already leaving impressions on her marrow.
And yet another touch, this one lighter, a palm splayed across the small of her back, a second body pressing into hers from behind.
“Yeah, we thought we lost you for a sec there.” This voice, a little higher, but no less deadly.
Not one, but two strangers.
“Can’t you see you’re interrupting something?” the guy snapped at them.
“Can’t you see,” the first voice mocked, “she’s not yours?”
OR
Two women step in when a guy gets pushy with Rumi at a bar. What happens after is meant to be a one-night stand, nothing more.
But rarely do things turn out exactly the way they're meant to.

Let me set the scene. Minutes before the pre planned ao3 lock down I receive an email for one of my most favorite Polytrix fics. In a moment of panic, my hands shaking with rushing adrenaline, I hurriedly fling my laptop and consequently my homework across the room and lung for my phone. My email opens, my finger hovers over the “chapter six” button and praying to every god in existence I-
Page could not be found.
I WAS TOO LATE. Tears spring to my eyes. The perfect reason for procrastinating my homework and an impromptu moment for living GONE. Just like that. A tease. I was blue balled by the one website I thought I could call a friend.
Anyways. This was an amazing chapter and I really enjoyed it. I love fics where one person has a chronic illness because I have a bit of a chronic thing that I have to watch. And the feeling of being cared for a loved even if you feel like your more work than your worth is something that is almost indescribable. Masterpieces like this really clench my heart strings and I just wanted to tell you I love it.
It also feels like you sprinkled in a bit of a soulmate au. Where Mira and Zoey feel like they are connected to Rumi in a way that is far stronger than just attraction. It’s like all my favorite tags in one. I love the way Mira and Zoey care for Rumi and I think you’ve really done a great job with writing and prose in this work.
Keep it up!!!
