There is an unbearable coldness seeping through each echo of the marble floor as Lex walks into the open entrance hall of the Luthor Mansion. Dimly lit by the grand chandelier and several other wall lamps, this place feels so… empty. No, not empty, hollow. Lex can barely remember a single prominent memory of this building despite being born and raised here. At least none that are decent. The air feels dusty to the nose and chilling to the skin. His ears pick up on the eerie whooshes of the winter wind outside. Lex wants to leave. Anywhere, but here. Yet he can't.
Lex Luthor, fresh out of Belle Reve, got banished to Smallville by his sister due to his dwindling reputation for an indefinite amount of time. Safe to say, Lex is not enjoying his time back at home. Somehow, it gets worse with the appearance of Clark Kent from the Daily Planet in town.
