And isn’t that what it all comes down to? You couldn’t protect Natasha from her choices, and I couldn’t protect my mom from hers. It’s the fact that we both wanted to protect the people we love, even when we lose them. That’s the connection I felt with you. And now that we’ve spent more time together, I can see more sides of you than I did when we first met. You’re unique. You’re unlike anyone else I’ve met, and I’ve met a lot of people—Avengers, aliens, even people from different universes, and you still stand alone.
