Summary
In a world of supernatural creatures, humans are a little scared of them. That’s where the Cryptic-Human Alliance Guild comes in, to facilitate better relations between humans and the supernatural, and for safety for the squishier humans.
Tango Tek, a recently turned vampire (in the last month) is volunteered to give presentations on ‘sleep safety’ to different communities to slow the increase of vampirism and reduce casualties. It’s at one of these presentations he meets Jimmy Solidarity; a man incapable of turning, no matter how many times he’s been drained, who asks for his help in stopping whoever keeps taking all his blood every month.
As Tango searches for answers, he learns a lot more about the supernatural community, and where his current stance lands him among his new peers. What’s more, why is Jimmy specifically unable to turn? And when the other humans find out, what lengths will they go to gain the same immunity?
A platonic ranchers fic in which Tango helps Jimmy deal with life-threatening encounters with familiar faces, some human, some supernatural.

He couldn't do it again. He couldn't handle the silent pain, the only sound his own screams echoing off of the walls. He couldn't stand the blank masks of the Watchers, faces permanently obscured by the disks that they had sealed over their features. Couldn't stand the chill of the room against his bare skin, only chased away by his blood, boiling hot in comparison.
His heart was pounding now, faster and faster, tears leaking out of his eyes, wasting water he couldn't lose. He needed to calm down, breathe, stop panicking. He would only lose more blood.
Breathe in.
He's going to die. There's no way that his team will find him before he bleeds out.
Breathe out.
The Watchers would probably go after Grian next. Even if they raised him, they still wouldn't treat him with mercy. They would find another chosen one.
Breathe in.
His team might get Grian out in time.
Breathe out.
They won't.
He couldn't breathe in anymore.
