It was lying on a branch, and its whiskers twitched while it stared down at him.

The creature' smirk widened, eyes squinting in crescents.
“Well then,” it slowly got up and stretched its front legs, its sharp nails digging into the bark. “This might just get interesting.”

Summary
Problematic teenager Chuuya Nakahara was forced to attend St. Joanne's Private School, the most prestigious secondary school in the late seventies. Determined to be expelled, all his plans crumble down when he meets his newfound arch-nemesis/academic rival/partner/friend(?) who is prepared to make his school days a living hell, but, at least, a bit more exciting. Though, between needless banter and half hidden romantic tension, them and their friends find out that this school is cloaking disturbing secrets between its stonewalls and unethical political connections.
Weird things happen when you're bundled up with a bunch of rich kids, prodigies, and, well, a hidden demonic cult.or basically Bungo Stray Dogs character as stupid teenagers in a boarding school with lots of past and future trauma.

The year?
2003ish.The vibe?

But his life is turned upside down upon meeting a weird, lonely boy: his friendships unravel; he moves in with Dazai and his guardian Mori; and he’s now got one summer left before he’s thrust into school for the very first time. Only blasting pop punk music will save him.Meanwhile, Dazai’s suicidal plans have been interrupted by a new toy—dog, boy, whatever—to play with. If only he could stop being an asshole and figure out what these strange new emotions mean.
And then why don’t either of them feel like real human teenagers?
