Semester break in summer rolled in, and Will Byers was given the opportunity to reunite with his friends once again, which meant reuniting with Mike. A wound he thought once healed. Mike Wheeler experienced the surfacing of emotions he thought he had long since buried. For once, they have a chance to confront each other again, to make things right.

Summary
Mike and El breakup. Huge news for Mike, except it isn't really. What he is more taken aback by is that El didn't commission the painting Will gave him. With the party running out of time to defeat Vecna and Mike having a whole new set of issues to deal with, everything seems like way to much for him. So, in Mike Wheeler fashion he is going to handle the situation HORRIBLY. What Mike doesn't realize is that the painting won't even be the biggest burden to handle (cough cough internalized homophobia cough).

El reveals she didn't commission the painting. Mike freaks out and realizes something: he may not be straight and has been unintentionally using dating El as means to hide from the truth (he like likkeesss Will).
