Angeal followed Genesis not long after, and Sephiroth was lost, trying to understand. Zack was lost too, grieving and fucking up his new relationship with Aerith. He’d pulled some cheesy line and Cloud had laughed, then pulled off his helmet and-Hair. Eyes. Smile.

Summary
Sephiroth dreams – sees the man (monster) he could become. He then decides to take a different path. But destiny has a habit of staying the course, and he finds he will have to fight harder than he ever has before for the right to decide his own fate.
Luckily for him, he has some help.
(Or, in other words, a remix of FFVII, in which Sephiroth turns toward the truth in hopes of finding freedom, in which Aerith tries to become a Cetra her mother would be proud of, in which Zack strives to achieve his dream of becoming a hero, and in which Cloud, once again, just ends up saving the world).

Newest fav final fantasy fic for the brilliant, perfect characterisation of all the cast (especially cloud and sephiroth) (and aerith I really liked her). Insane fluff and lovely angst it really honestly made me want to tear up in many many bits. Such a rewarding read even if it was only one chapter it would have been worth it
