Summary
Mystery could not say what had woken him, but it wasn’t until he felt the warm, breathing body next to him that he had an inkling. He had slept by himself on the couch or alone in the backseat of the van for so long that he barely remembered what it felt like to be so close to one of his humans.
While the body was that of the one-armed mechanic, the soul in it was not, a hopefully temporary condition that they would rectify soon.
Based on the wonderful in-progress fic on Tumblr called Mirror's Gaze (found here [chapter links are included in each chapter]) by the awesome Phantom's-Lair, who encouraged me to write this and to continue writing when I would have panicked and run away.

"Is that something that Wei Ying would like?" Lan Wangji asks softly, carefully, "To be kept?"
There's that fleeting, lost look in Wei Ying's eyes once more, and Lan Wangji thinks it's unacceptable - That Wei Ying had not felt welcomed in his own home, so much so that he decided to wander the world away from it. So much so that he is afraid that he would be unwelcome as well elsewhere.
Lan Wangji barely stops himself from hissing, from letting the steam of his icy breath escape in the close air between them. He only vaguely remembers the Jiangs, a young Cultivation Clan barely a century old, but his disdain towards them feels ancient now in the wake of all this. How foolish of them, to simply let go of someone so bright, someone so unfailingly kind and giving.
How convenient, for Lan Wangji's own gain.

Summary
Su She’s arrow hits Wei Wuxian in the back. The Xuanwu gets a few more lucky bites in. After Lan Wangji hums him to sleep, Wei Wuxian wakes up dazedly one more time.
Lost in thought, Wei Wuxian breathes out and whispers clumsily, “Ah, I can’t believe I’m going just like this…I haven’t even had my first kiss yet.”
Lan Wangji's breath remains steady, the deep rise and fall seeming distant in Wei Wuxian's blurry vision. The water drops pause for a while, then continue semi-rhythmically.
The silence is so long that Wei Wuxian is half-convinced that he’s hallucinated the whole conversation and begins to fade back into unconsciousness. He wishes to wake up just one more time, in case Lan Wangji sings to him once more.
Abruptly, the fingers on his forehead twitch and he hears a single syllable fall from Lan Wangji’s lips.
“…You?”
