“Nancy, isn’t there anything we can do?” Begged Mike, hunched over next to Will and barely able to take his eyes of the young man.
“This is no simple curse, Mike. He’s blighted.” Nancy replied. “There’s no easy way to get rid of it. Whatever power he tried to strike a bargain with was too great, and his soul too weak. That’s all there is to it. Either he’ll eventually succeed in subduing it, and wed it to his own arts, or it’s going to consume him whole.”
In her brother’s face Nancy could already see that this wasn’t going to be an acceptable answer.

As if getting dragged into the Upside Down and making everyone rescue him a second time wasn’t bad enough, this time, somehow, Will also leaves the Upside Down with the ability to read people’s minds.
At least he’s not throwing up slugs this time.or;
Will gets telepathic powers, and can't control them. Through this, he accidentally learns that his best friend is having some less than heterosexual thoughts.
