“Don’t fight this, Sophie. I know you feel this…this thing between us. I’m not crazy. You want this.” His fingers slip under my waistband, brushing just over my underwear. I suck in a shaky breath.
I put my hands on his shoulders, apply pressure. “Please, Noah. I can’t do this with you.” If he hadn’t done what he did, if this was just him taking me home after the bar, I know I would let him.
Noah’s eyes harden in a way I haven’t seen before. “Hands at your sides.” His tone has darkened. This is an order. No more soft convincing, or gentle soothing. I’ve just made up my mind, drawn my line in the sand, and in making up his, he’s stepped right over it.
I swallow hard. “Noah. If you do this, it’s going to be–”
“Hands,” he growls, his hand slipping out of my pants until it's collared around my throat. I gasp when he tightens his grip, just barely on the other side of choking. “At your sides. Now.” He doesn’t raise his voice. He doesn’t have to. His words are laced with the threat.
I pull my hands away from his shoulders and place them shaking at my sides.
