Summary
Itachi had done many things he wasn't proud of. No matter how one might try to justify it, he had undeniably committed unforgivable crimes for what he believed to be the greater good. To make matters even worse, despite his best efforts, his actions hadn't ended up in Sasuke's favour at all, causing him only even more pain instead. The one thing he could confidently say he had done right was stopping the Edo Tensei and showing Sasuke the whole truth, but that didn't make up for a lifetime of mistakes.
With that in mind, waking up as a child nearly twenty years in the past was understandably a shock. After all, weren't there others who deserved a second chance more than he did? People who could do more good than him?
It was he who had ultimately been granted this opportunity, however, so it was up to him to seize it and create a better future. One in which his clan didn't have to die, Madara would be stopped, and, most importantly of all, Sasuke could be happy.
Itachi was going to make sure of it.

Summary
While leaving for Imperial Center under such circumstances was most definitively not a good thing, Leia couldn't feel too unhappy about it. After all, while she might love her father dearly, escaping his ever-watchful eyes for once did sound rather appealing to her. Furthermore, being at the centre of all galactic politics without him there to "protect" her might actually be really interesting!
She would need to work as an aide for some imperial official during her stay, of course, but if anything, that was a good thing as well considering that position would give her more insight into Imperial politics than watching her father had ever done.
Unfortunately, things got more complicated when she found out just who she would be working for...
