Laurent wakes screaming. He’s dying. He must be. It’s the only explanation he has for the utter agony, confusion and terror that he feels. His brain is splitting itself open, bits of it strewn across space and time. He’s twenty one, in Arles, finally crowned. He’s fourteen, at Chastillon, on his knees for his uncle. He’s twenty, in Ios, watching a blade sink into Damen’s side. He’s sixteen, all alone, dreaming of revenge.
Last night Laurent had thrust his arm at Damen, “attend me,” he had commanded, as if Damen weren’t a king in his own right. Last night, Uncle had sat on his bed, played chess with him. “I will always have time for you,” he had reassured Laurent, “even though Auguste has outgrown you.”
Laurent leans to the side and vomits, violently. His fingers shake as he pushes his hair back, slowly, the room spins into focus. His hair is shorter than he remembers, Damen likes it long. His hair is exactly the same, cut by his nursemaid once a month.
He is thirteen, at Marlas, and he knows everything.

I binged this all in one evening it absolutely hooked me. Can't wait for the next update!!Damen is so characteristically an oblivious idiot, and the whole dynamic reminds me so much of Wolfsong by T.J. Klune. Which, as an aside, also ripped me apart.
I'm so torn between waiting for Laurent to just hurry up and grow older but also there's so much planning in-between and schemes to scheme in the meantime. Laurent has so much knowledge but is still far from op due to the real and dangerous moves of his rivals. Really loving the build-up and watching the chess match unfold.

The Auction
by LovesBitca8This one was a marathon to read. Took me a good chunk of August 2024. I didn't know what to make of it in the beginning because I felt like Hermione wasn't as interesting of a main character as other Dramoine. But I still wanted to read it knowing it's one of the classics of the Dark Dramoine genre. I was doing a lot of comparing it with Manacled, for obvious reasons. But around a 60% mark I feel like it came into its own.
I guessed that Charlotte would be dosing all of the champagne with the tattoo antidote. However, I didn't guess that Hermione was going to be an actual genuine bloodline heir to the Malfoys. I was very intrigued by Pansy and by Blaise.
The Auction Lucius can be summarized by the quote:
"If I know my husband, his death was mere castling. I'm certain he has other chess pieces that have yet to move."Very well done. At the end all I wish to do is read the love story between Theo and Oliver, and mourn the tragedy that is always Pansy and Draco. I can't even imagine what went through her head as she was polyjuiced as Hermione.

The Evans Boy by lonibal
This will certainly go down in the history of my fanfics as one of my top top favorites. I spent the last day just in a blur of breathing and sleeping Evans Boy. What am I to do now while waiting for more chapters?!
[Evidently the answer was look through all the author notes that were missing from my epub copy]
I love Harry and Percy in this SO SO much. Harry is also incredibly powerful but he DOES make mistakes sometimes. Like with Skeeter. The fact he's intersex and unafraid of being outwardly gay, and just his blatant intelligence is stunning.
Have i mentioned i love calm, collected, logical, competent, level headed, intelligent, and well-read main characters? That's this Harry to a T
I will be following this story closely as I've heard it rapidly updates. 👀
Story notes:
- this is one the first fics I've read where Harry gets paralyzed instead of Hermione
- Snape will literally tear the world apart to make Harry happy. He is terrifying. He is bound by no laws magical or muggle. He is a father.
- Harry figured out Snape was his dad by going through all the newspaper clippings in the library till he found his birth announcement
- Lady Madeline is beautiful and majestic
- Monty has a pet occamy only he can see. Harry also created a charm to allow only him and Monty see the notes they pass back and forth
- Dumbledore is shady af
- Hagrid is... A mess. To put it simply. It could be that we're simply seeing them through Harry/Snape lenses tho
- werewolves simply turn into wolves. No other abilities
- Harry's patronus is a lobster
- Percy douses himself with love potions because he wants to impress Penelope and get into the ministry. Nearly almost imbibing amortentia. Aunt Muriel straps him to a chair and forces him to get his shit together. Perry's mom is not .. super accepting of the gays
- Harry throws himself into spell crafting, whereas Monty seems much more interested in potions than canon Harry. My guess is it could be Harry's influence? Even tho Harry isn't passionate about potions, Monty still wants to impress Snape who clearly Harry cares about a lot.
- Harry is deathly allergic to shellfish and peanuts. He very nearly dies to the blast ended skrewts
- Harry and Monty compete in the Triwizard tournament together

Thankfully, it was not over hyped at all and I enjoyed it quite a bit as I had hoped to. The ordeals were quite amazing and it's just another one of those fics that prove relationships are so much more than the physical aspects. Id take robbing a church of their most prized talking skull over sex anyway.

I've been on/off reading this for a good while now. I kept reading a chapter and then seeing how soon it would end and pausing it for a little bit so that it wasn't over too quickly. I really loved this story so much.I had *so* much fun with the character fusion reveals! I kept stopping long enough that I'd forget certain characters and be delighted again when I was reminded who they were (like Leo and Daredevil). Even the minor roles like Tonks being Maria Hills (I'm so glad for the character chart at the end). (Hagrid being Happy made my day). For the main cast, MINNIE as FRIDAY and Remus as the Hulk were probably my unexpected favorites.
The way you interweaved everyone's storylines was just so interesting! Realizing that Howard Prince and Tobias Snape were two different people threw me for a spin while trying to parse that bit of backstory. But the best part is how everyone's recasting just ✨ makes sense ✨.
Real "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" vibes now that I think about it. So many backstories to play with- like the merging of Hawkeye and Longbottom- and executed so perfectly. I would absolutely love a few vignettes of this fusion crew! Like who's Addy cast as??
Oh also like other people have said, I really wasn't that upset by the anticlimactic ending with the Mad Titan already being defeated. Like in HP canon Grindelwald was killed before Harry's timeline anyway- so it makes sense plot wise for there to be no need for a fight. Plus Bellatrix's defeat via Leo was plenty of an ending for me.
Such an incredible story, I really hope to see more from this world 🩵♥️

I love how Stiles is generally nonchalant about Derek’s Very Weird Behavior. Like, sniff him all the time? Sure, knock yourself out. Ridiculously and unprompted big hickey at seven in the morning? You do you, dude. Weird-and-Creepy appearances all the time? Must be the small town, what can you do. I love them

Enjoying this fic quite a bit! Seriously started around 12/15 a little bit after when i asked RBC for dramoine fics. Very beautiful writing! I gave it to jams and he finished book 1 in a day.

I left this comment, which summarizes my thoughts pretty well i think. given that I wrote it and all:First and foremost, Merry Christmas! I've been reading your fic for the last few weeks on and off until the holidays arrived— where instead of wrapping presents and such— I've been in a near catatonic state simply devouring the rest of the book.
I love being inside of Draco's head so much. The amount of self-delusion and denial he's in is beyond staggering. And the way you convey it all so deftly with the prose and their fast paced witty banter is delightful. I would have read the whole thing much faster if I wasn't pausing every few pages just to reread a particularly excellent spot of dialogue marveling at the sheer ✨ audacity ✨ of all parties involved. Some people read fantasy for the wish fulfillment of magic. I read fantasy for the wish fulfillment of these conversations one day happening to me in real life. We are not the same.
In all the dms I have with my fanfic friends they are probably so tired of me waxing poetic on how much I love Harry and Ron's characterizations. It goes without saying that Draco and Hermione in Dramoine fics (worth anything at all) will have real genuine personalities. But not only did you not bash the other two, you gave them distinct and three dimensional people-like qualities. Harry's sass had me in stitches and I don't think I've ever met a more likable Ron. When the four of them clash all hell breaks loose and the only thing a reader can do is hold on to something immoveable and weather the storm.
I haven't been this engaged in reading fic in a long time. All of the characters leap off the page effortlessly and even when I put the book down I'm still thinking about it.

- a very young and very passionate Hermione. She's not senlinyu's Hermione and don't mistake the two. Haven't quite put my finger on their difference but there's definitely a palpable one. Maybe less tired and un-disillusioned with the world perhaps. Only 14? 15?- Draco Draco Draco. Still a prat as always but I love him very much. He learns quickly this one.
- no one is dumb. Ron is amazing. Harry is sassy. Neville is kind of non-existent. :(
- Daphne got mauled by Lupin in the third book. She has a giant scar, she's a pariah of the Slytherin's, doesn't actual *have* lycanthropy but she does get mighty twitchy during full moons. She helped the Gryffindor house get ready for the Yule Ball and is now camping out there because Slytherin's killed her cat, Duchess
- theo is also very interesting. Theo and Pansy are a matched set. Theo is very tortured
- Narcissa works for Dumbledore, bargaining the cost of Draco's life. He knows about the horcruxes now but has made a vow not to tell anyone about them. He also knows about the room of requirement. Both tidbits bequeathed by Narcissa herself. Snape is the same greasy fur we see in canon. No changes there
- Krum is dead, Cedric never competed, and Cassius Warrington has a vendetta against Draco now after he soundly was beaten up by Draco.
- Wolf Star is very real and very beautiful. Cedric is with some lad but that got his dad fired. Moody isn't actually Crouch Jr. Never was. 2nd year DADA was taught by some rando imperioused by Yaxley and Lockheart ignored. The diary *is* destroyed but by Dumbledore and Narcissa and never controlled anyone.
- i think that's all the important bits. Draco nearly kissed Hermione on the train home from fourth year but didn't because God damn this is a slow burn. Harry's off to live at Grimmauld place!
