“So walk me through the plan again?”
Max huffed, lifting herself up to sit on the kitchen counter next to where Will was brewing a pot of coffee. “Seriously? We’ve been through this about a dozen times already.”
“I know, I know! It’s just—I don’t know, I’m feeling a little nervous about it.” Will anxiously tapped his fingers on the countertop, staring at the slow drip of the coffee. “I don’t love the idea of lying to Mike–what if he completely freaks out?”
“Isn’t that kind of the point?”

Max & Lucas devise a plan to make Mike jealous by pretending to be in a polyamorous throuple with Will when Mike comes to visit over Spring Break.

Summary
Will and Lucas both end up at NYU—Lucas on a basketball scholarship, Will chasing the art program of his dreams. When Will’s scene partner suddenly bails, he turns to the one person he trusts; Lucas.
What starts as a favor becomes something neither of them expected. Rehearsals turn into late night talks, shared dorm space becomes something softer, and the line between friendship and something deeper begins to blur.
College was supposed to be a new beginning…

Summary
Will takes a step sideways, into the walkway leading to the front counter between tables, blocking his sister from Mike's view. "Mike?" he questions, trying for an easy, casual smile; he has no idea what his expression actually reflects. "What are you doing here?"
Mike grins, shrugging as he walks right up to Will, a mere two feet of distance between them. "Needed a change of scenery," he says, equally casual. "Nancy reminded me that you guys live in Montauk now, and I realized I never really visited. Didn't expect to run into you so fast though; is this place… yours?"
And isn't that a loaded question. Will forces a smile on his face, tries to ignore the elephant in the room standing behind him. "Something like that," he says.

Will dropped his head into his hands. “Mike, oh my god—”
Paladin Mike’s jaw tightened. “I do not own him,” he said immediately. “He is—” He stopped, swallowing. His eyes went back to Will softening, and that softness made Mike hate him even more. He could recognize the look, and saw it mirrored in his own eyes countless times.

“He is the Light. By your oath, I am bound to him. My liege.” He bowed his head slightly toward Will, his mouth wrapped around the word like it was a prayer. “My cleric.” He said after, softer.
“Oh my god.” Will flushed, impossibly. “That is crazy. He is actually crazy."
Max, who had been standing with her arms crossed behind them, muttered, “Jesus Christ,” under her breath.
Mike Wheeler is going to explode, because there is an alternate, armoured version of him, following Will Byers around like he belonged to him.

Will shakes his head. “No, I mean. I mean I— I do like girls, just not like you. Not like that. I mean.” He groans, frustrated. “It’s not just that I don’t like girls—”
“You like…boys?” Lucas offers, and Will’s head snaps up in surprise. “Um, not to step on your moment, and I’m proud of you and all, but…Will, I already knew that.”
“You— you knew?”
“C’mon, man, you’re one of my best friends. Yeah, I knew,” Lucas says. Relief hits his bloodstream like a drug—of all the somethings, this is the best possible outcome. “You like Mike, right?”
Will stammers, jaw dropping. “Wh— what? No! I don’t— I don’t like Mike. I mean I…I did, I used to, but I don’t anymore. I swear.”
“Dude, it’s cool,” Lucas says slowly. He smirks. “I mean, I don’t get why you’d go for Mike when you have a much better option right here—” He does a gratuitous shimmy, and Wills snorts a laugh, “But I guess there’s no accounting for taste.”
