He Xuan is the eccentric type. The most eye-catching part of his appearance has to be his earrings. They’re long and dangly. Sometimes he wears gold, feather-like things on either ear. There are days when he opts for something a bit more elaborate, filling his canvas of cartilage with a litany of piercings, each piece as usual as the last.
He may be the most unusual marine biology PhD student Dr. Santos has ever met, which is saying a lot.
Or: Two thousand years after Jun Wu’s fall, it’s only natural that He Xuan eventually takes an interest in marine biology. Summary
