Melanie cleared her throat. "Um, can I help you?"
"Why, yes! I am parched, darling, simply parched." His voice dripped with old fashioned charm, like Cary Grant or Orson Welles, but there seemed to be a filter playing over it, as if he were broadcasting through a radio. He grinned his crazy grin and leaned against the counter. "What is this fine establishment you have here? Got any whiskey? Giggle juice?"
"Sir, this is a Starbucks."
(Or: Alastor walks into a Starbucks and discovers something new about himself. The denizens of hell soon join him. Chaos ensues.)

Summary
Damian spreads his hands to the side in a low bow in front of Bruce and says to the roof’s surface, “I entreat you to grant me asylum from the League in your city. In return, I break my bonds with the League and pledge my fealty to your service.” The formal, rehearsed words are at odds with his young age.
Bruce knows that he has to get this child to safety.
Damian's integration into the Batfamily immediately following the events in "Loading and Aspect Ratio."

So, it didn’t start out like this.
Alfred would scoff at the statement, about how Bruce was trying to justify the whole situation to himself. It had started out as a simple design, black everything with black outlines and black hood. It got a little more intense as the world went on, got wind of his ghost on the streets, and became scared of The Bat . So Bruce got a little more creative with it, Alfred and him had a good laugh over the name, the scare, and Alfred had a vicious streak of humor that he had passed onto his ward-
So now the suit had a visible bat-theme, an insignia to drape in the shadows and to paint across the streets of Gotham.
It only took a year into the whole charade of heroism for Bruce to overhear a conversation between some goons- some low level thug hired by the Riddler this week- about nothing at all pertaining to what the hell the Riddler was doing in the sewers but instead:
“ The Batman can fly, you know, I’ve seen his wings.”

Summary
The Wraith had always thought that he was doing the right thing serving as Reaper for the Spirit who'd found him, but when his prey begins acting in ways which make him question that, things in The Entity's realm start to go in directions it won't allow. Any time those barely surviving choose to take a stand, there is always a price to pay, and in a cyclical living nightmare like this, how much can the survivors really afford to believe in?
