“Never land, Ice,” Mav said with a grin. “Never land.”
Ice was landing. He was in Monterey in pursuit of a desk, according to Maverick. Truthfully, he was studying for a degree in Information Strategy and Political Warfare. Mav whistled appreciatively when Ice told him that.
“They’ll be creamin’ themselves to get you in their command, Ice. You’ll be licking all the brass-ass you want before you know it.”
Ice scowled and shoved Maverick’s shoulder roughly, but added under his breath, before he walked away, “Bullshit—they can lick mine.”

Maverick glared at him, the effect somewhat undermined by the soup spoon half way out of his mouth. “You have this idea that every shifter is the same, that everybody wants to show off and brag and loves their shift form, but it’s not true, Goose. If I wanted to talk about it, I’d have talked about it.”
