Summary
Macklin Celebrini stuck in a time loop.
Maybe it’s the Universe’s way of giving Macklin a chance at winning, he thinks on his way to warm-up. Maybe it’s not a curse, but an opportunity — and one that’s never been given before to anyone else. Maybe the Universe itself wants Macklin to win this game and as soon as he does, his life will go back to normal and he’ll come out stronger and better. This must be it, he thinks hopefully, desperately, grabbing onto the last shred of sense he can make of this whole thing. This must be it. It’s not a coincidence that he is stuck on the day of one of the biggest games of his career. Therefore, he must take his chance — chances, tens, hundreds, however many he is given — and make his run for it

Summary
He caught his lip between his teeth, trying too hard not to think as thinking would put an end to their conversation. “You know the hotel that they usually put away teams in?” This was a bad idea.
Kaprizov just nodded beside him, so he continued, “I’m in room 1012. I’ll be back by ten.”
----
“You actually came,” was the first thing he said to him off the ice.
“And you actually gave me right room number.”

Summary
“What three words describe your game?”
Macklin stares at the computer screen for longer than he should. He’s sure the other guys are just filling out this questionnaire as quickly as possible without putting much thought into it, but he can’t quite bring himself to do that. He knows he needs to prove himself; he’s not confident that there weren’t better options for the Olympic roster, and he wants to show the world that he belongs here representing Canada.
Normally, he would ask Will for help with this, but he’s been trying to avoid Olympics talk with his best friend. Will didn’t make the Team USA roster - not that he thought he would, and he doesn’t seem upset about it - and Macklin doesn’t want to seem like he’s bragging by forcing Will to interact with all of this extra work that’s been dumped on Macklin’s plate.

Summary
Nate’s therapist had once suggested that he make lists when things get difficult. He had never done it before, mostly because it felt stupid and also like it was more work than it was worth, but he has no better ideas right now for how to deal with everything. He digs through his drawers until he finds an actual notebook with real paper in it, and then he scrounges around until he triumphantly emerges with a pen. Perfect.
So, a list. He’s not actually sure what is supposed to go on these lists. Sometimes, he tunes out his therapist. He knows that’s not exactly ideal, especially because he’s paying for a service, but he can’t help it. At least he knows there should be a list, or maybe two of them. Pros and cons? That doesn’t really make sense here. Maybe it should be an “evidence for / evidence against” type of thing.
