“Ain’t no way, bro. You are fucking attached to your boys.”
“What, you think I can’t go a few days without physical contact?”
“Bet. Do a week until we play you guys down here in Philly. You win, I venmo you every time you get your iced coffee crap for a month.”
“Easiest bet ever, what the fuck.”
Or: Cole is nothing if not competitive, so when Trevor bets him that he can’t go a week without touching his teammates off the ice, he’s fucking on it.
He makes it four days.

Summary
The program had been struggling to find coaches, and they wanted Sid to do some promotional content. Which is why he was in his Pittsburgh house when Geno had FaceTime’d him for one of their regular summer check-ins.
“Sid, you’re in Pittsburgh?” Geno had asked, eyebrows scrunched in confusion. “Why you’re back already?”
“Hello to you too. I’m good Geno, thanks for asking.” Sid huffed but continued. “The little penguins called. They wanted me to do some content for them. I guess they’re having a hard time recruiting coaches and thought I could help…you know, promote the program.”
Geno hadn’t made a noise the whole time Sid was talking and the silence stretched on. His eyes focused somewhere beyond Sid.
“G?” Sid prompted.
“Sorry, I was looking up flights. I come home, help.” Geno said.
“Oh, G, you don't have to-“ Sid started.
“If Sidney Crosby change routine, must be important. Baby penguins need press, make more noise if we both do, no?”

“What number do you want to wear?”
Nate raises an eyebrow. “Uh, 29?”
The woman shakes her head. “Sorry, that one’s taken. You’ll have to pick something else.”
Nate frowns. Taken? But that’s his number. Who could have taken it?
“Sidney!” a familiar voice shouts, and then Sid is dropping his bags and running straight into the arms of Marc-Andre Fleury. He’s smiling broader than Nate’s seen in months.
---------------------
Nate goes to Worlds and finds himself stuck with an adopted rookie who reminds him a lot of himself when he was first entering the league. In between playing hockey and trying to make sure Macklin doesn't do anything dumb, Nate falls in love with his best friend.

Summary
Tom leaned in close and whispered, “You really don’t like Celebrini, do you?”
Ryan sputtered, “I, uh, I don’t have any problem with him, I don’t know what you’re talking about…”
That wasn’t convincing anyone. “It’s fine to feel jealous, you think I’m not envious that I don’t get to play with Sid every week?” Tom said, and in a hushed tone added, “if you need your own Canadian to get over blondie, you know where to come.”
Ryan’s mind went blank. Tom grabbed a beer and launched himself at Dylan on the couch. Was he just propositioned by Tom fucking Wilson? Fuck, did everyone already figure out he was gay?
Well, Ryan wasn’t gay. Will was pretty like a girl, or at least that’s what he told himself. Yeah, he loved **all** of Will, but that still doesn’t make him gay. Okay, maybe he would love to get over Will by getting under Tom, but since that wasn’t ever going to happen, it wasn’t gay…
Or: Leno's no good, exceptionally bad time watching his boyfriend at the Olympics.

Summary
Will’s hand moved a fraction higher, his eyes dropping briefly to Mack’s lips before returning to his eyes. He cleared his throat, and then uttered words that Mack would have never expected to hear. “If you want, Mackie, I can show you.”
For a moment, Mack couldn’t speak, or see, for that matter. It was like his entire world had shuttered and changed before him. He blinked himself out of his stupor and wet his lips, his mouth suddenly feeling noticeably dry. “Show me?” he repeated. Was Will saying what he thought he was?
Will huffed out a laugh which lacked humour, and then he shrugged one shoulder. “If you want,” he said again, trailing off. Mack held his breath in anticipation, and then, Will murmured, “I’ll eat you out, yeah?”
Or;
After watching a film, Mack admits that he has never enjoyed sex before. His best friend, and borderline crush, Will, quickly chooses to change that.

Summary
Maybe Mack should have thought about this a little bit longer. As the paper is signed, and his life along with it, Mack can’t help but just… realize. Realize what he’s just done. Realize that he’s just got married to his teammate. Collin blinks slowly with his wide eyes, staring at his scribbled down signature— seemingly thinking the same thing as Mack.
They’re married now. Macklin and Collin Graf.
Or, Mack is at risk of getting deported and marries the first American teammate willing to hitch, Collin Graf, in order to stay in San Jose.

LordStanley87: Yeah I’m a big fan
LordStanley87: Nice poster by the way“You see that?” Geno whipped his head around to look at the poster on the wall. Sid almost wished he hadn’t said anything, he should’ve kept it his own little secret. “How you recognize that? Eight seven, you must be Crosby fan then?”

Summary
Geno had him first. Then Nate. Both of them let him go. Leon finds Sid on the floor of a service corridor wearing his hoodie and shaking, and the only coherent thought in his head is: absolutely fucking ridiculous, both of them, to give this up.
Sidney Crosby has spent every heat since January alone. Leon Draisaitl was never supposed to change that—but Sid stole his hoodie by accident, mistaking it as Nate’s, went into heat in a back corridor, and Leon has never been particularly good at walking away from things that matter.

It’s not until Sid opens the door that it really clicks for Mitch.
“I thought we were all rooming alone in the hotel.” He mumbles, scratching at his sorry excuse for a beard as he takes in the ginormous bed. There are two labelled bags stacked neatly at the end. 87 and 29.
Sid and Nate exchange another glance.
“Oh,” Mitch mumbles, the realisation finally dawning on him. Sid and Nate are rooming together because they are together.

When Quinn objected, because of course he did, they simply pointed to the bottom of his contract. There was his own scrawl, a signature that had already agreed to these terms before he’d even made his NHL debut.
He had gone home from the meeting with a pit of dread in his stomach so sour that he thrown up, then called his brother and cried. He hadn’t done that since he was 12 and had been away at a tournament for the first time without one of his parents with him.

Summary
Cale parks the car and slowly climbs out, stretching his cramped limbs and back. It had been a long drive from Bozeman, about an hour or so, and that was after a couple hours on a plane. Nate’s clambering out of the passenger seat, also stretching his body out. Cale walks around to the trunk and grabs their bags. “Go inside, I’ve got this,” he instructs Nate.
Nate hesitates. “You sure?”
“Go,” Cale says, smiling. “I know how excited you are to see him.”
