The tape recorder clicks to life, the button sinking into its slot with a satisfying shunk. The tape inside spins, curling its way from one spool to another as he sits there, breathing as quietly as he can. Not that there was anyone to hear him, exactly, anyone with half a social life at all had left the office long before he had, but… here he stood, coat over the back of his chair, hair in his eyes, elbows planted on the table.
Better start the recording somewhere, right?
“Audio log,” his voice crackled up out of his throat, the first words he’d spoken in hours, “Eighth of February, 2028. About nine in the evening. Simon Blackquill recording.”

They weren’t dating.
It just wasn’t really a plausible possibility, what with Denki being a huge top ten pro hero with every aspect of his privacy stripped from him and Hitoshi being some big secretive agent that works entirely underground and doesn’t exist to the public eye. It’s just not really a ThingTM that they can do. So they weren’t dating. But that absolutely didn’t stop Denki from stealing Hitoshi’s hoodies or t-shirts (or sweatpants after they’d worked out or sparred together) to bury his nose in at night and dream that Hitoshi could live with him and that they could fall asleep together and live together like a couple.

He hadn’t jumped at the chance. He hadn’t! No matter how much anyone ever said he did, Tommy would assure them he did not, and then he’d probably smack them upside the head for good measure.
He did NOT jump at the chance to babysit Michael. No way would he ever do something like that. He’s not a softy, he’s not even particularly fond of children in general, so no he absolutely did not jump at the chance. He’d accepted, because of course he had because saying ‘no’ wasn’t exactly an option, but he did not at all jump at the chance. He didn’t leap for it, did not enthusiastically accept, nothing.

Aether is, truly, an enigma of the highest degree, and Kaeya shouldn’t find that nearly as attractive or intriguing as he does. Of course, he likes mysteries as much as anyone (mystery novels tend to take up the majority of his ‘currently reading’ bookshelf), but… Aether is a rather specific and very special sort of mystery.
And, as Kaeya watches him pull what appears to be a bag of raw flour out of his pocket, grab a handful of the stuff, and start lifting it to his mouth, Kaeya wonders how the fuck he managed to fall for such a goddamn fucking moron.

"So what do you get when you cross a med student and midterms?" Zenitsu says to the ceiling.
Tanjirou turns around in his spinny chair and gives his friend an odd look as he works to get his hair back into something that maybe hopefully resembles a pony tail. He says, "Is that supposed to be a joke?"
"No, Tanjirou," Zenitsu cries, "You get anxiety and it's not a joke it's just the truth."
"You wouldn't be so stressed if you studied just a little more than you are." Tanjirou raises an eyebrow at Zenitsu, tying his hair up, "Seriously, it's like you spend a hundred percent of your time complaining."
Zenitsu huffs, "I spend ten percent studying and ninety percent complaining, excuse you."

Summary
Dabi had never been very good at emotions or anything akin to them, but he's willing to work on it for one person in particular. It just so happens that this person is the person who'd betrayed him and hurt him more than he had ever been hurt emotionally in his life.
And Hawks had never been good at emotions either, what with his life being taken up with nothing but training and pain and trying his best to be the best, most crowd-pleasing hero of all time. But then he had to hurt the one person he might be able to love and he doesn't think he'd ever hurt like that before.
So now, thanks to Miruko's tactics and Toga's offhanded, wonky encouragement, they're working on it.
