“He only wants me,” Harry argued, trying to step around them, but found the Unspeakable moved to block him. “He’ll just kill you if he has to, to get to me.”

Harry liked to think that if he were a man-eating tiger, not even Vernon would want anything to do with him because, after all, Vernon was a man and that is what man-eating tigers ate.
From that day on, instead of wishing that his parents would appear magically at his front door and whisk him away, Harry wished instead that he could become a tiger. No one would hurt him then. They would be far too scared and Harry would finally, finally be safe.

He didn’t expect any of this to happen, has no idea what he’s going to tell his friends when they finally find out, and can’t believe why Voldemort—Tom—is doing all this just because of a stupid prophecy.
Who would ever take a prophecy seriously?

As everything stalls out in Siberia, his thoughts, his suit, his blood dripping from his wounds, Tony knows one thing for sure: when Pepper told him to rest, she didn't mean it like this.
To be fair, though, when he wakes up after Siberia, he doesn't get much rest at all. There just isn't time for it, not when he's got the whole future to change.
