Summary
Jim was adopted at age 7 by Winona and George Kirk, after Jim was rescued from Tarus. Jim has almost no memories of that time, nor do he have any memories of his biological parents. The only thing he knows is that he is one-quarter Vulcan. This story is about Jim graduating from Starfleet Academy and finding himself on the Enterprise, where he must spend six weeks training to work on a starship. But everything changes when they are attacked by an enemy ship and asked to give them ten crew members...

Helping House of Surak Prequel
The first time Jim sees Spock, it's at the park near campus one evening. The Vulcan barely gives him the time of day, believing Jim to be a prostitute which Jim is not.
The second time Jim sees Spock, Spock's book enthusiast mother tries to set them up, but Spock isn't available.
The third time, Jim beats Spock's test and well, being turned on as a crazy hot emotionally compromised Vulcan chokes him over a console isn't necessarily a bad thing, Jim figures. Checks all his kinky boxes but it's really not the time. He's got to save Earth and Pike first.
Then Spock requests to be his first officer, but he's still unavailable and Jim isn't a homewrecker. Jim can totally just be Spock's friend and not fall in love with him. Right?
Oh and Jim has a lot of sex. A lot. Eventually with Spock.
