Every second that ticks by is another second Peter swears he won't let himself get tangled in this mess. But who’s he kidding? Somewhere in the distance, a song ends, another begins, and all Peter can feel is the two hands holding him up and the sting of unresolved tension making the air taste metallic.
And then, in a moment of sheer madness, Peter thinks, Why the hell not? He tilts his head, inching closer. They're so damn close, he can practically taste Bucky's smirk. Maybe just once.
"Can't." Bucky murmurs an inch away from his lips. “Stark’s kid.”
